I don't know how you define best.  Highest percentage of the population with advanced degrees, nope.   Lowest rate of STDs?  Nope.  Highest per capita income.  Nope.  Highest percentage of home ownership.  Nope.  So, I guess you will just have to figure out what Texas has and decide that whatever it is is what all others should aspire to.

Not only because I was born there, but because they have the Dallas Cowboys, the San Antonio Spurs, and best of all the Dallas Mavericks.

Even the fact that George W. Bush came out of there isn't enough to counter being the home state of the Dallas Mavericks.

False. I have been to Texas many times ( my aunt lives there). People are wonderful and there are many things to do, but i would not say its the best state ever!

I wouldn't know. I haven't visited long enough in a long time to make an informed decision.

So far:

Pros: Tex-Mex, great football, plenty of wide open space if you choose. Okay to carry a gun in public if necessary.

Cons: Really crazy people, hot as he&& summers, no waves at the beach to surf.
