  1. There was a show about this on 20/20 not to long ago and if that show was correct Air Marshals (or Sky Marshals doesn't really matter)

    1. Sit in the most forward cabin of the aircraft (the first section of First class or the first few rows of coach if an all coach plane)

    2. Board first before anyone

    3. Have a dress code that makes them look like a normal person

    4. Only cover about 5% of total flights and are mainly assigned to bigger planes and high risk routes like New York to Los Angeles

  2. NO, not true. they sit anywhere on the plane and just look like a normal passenger. The are also called "Air Marshall's" not "Sky Marshall's". One of my friends parent is one, and you would probably guess that he was a business man when he boarded the plane.

  3. Yeah, not true. They are random throughout the plane, different places everytime. If they were only in First Class/Business everytime and this was common knowledge, well, it sure would be easy for someone to do something bad or plan it. Hmmmmmmmmmmm. They keep it random for a reason.

Oh, and yes, he's right, it's Air Marshall.

  4. Not true.

Air Marshals are placed in randomly assigned seats. Generally, they try to keep them out of First Class, simply because if something goes wrong, passengers in the front of the plane are forced to move back to coach. It's in an Air Marshal's best interest if he or she does absolutely nothing to draw attention to his or her self. It's a lot easier to "blend" if they are in coach.

  5. No its not true.  FAMs sit wherever there is an open seat.  Sometimes its always in the back, sometimes its in the front.  You just never know.  Well...we do, but most of the traveling public doesn't know.

  6. no they sit anywhere
