True: there was a girl at UNC Chapel Hill that was killed?

& it's been all over the news...

but did you know that there was a girl at North Carolina Central University that was killed & it was on the local news for 1 day?

Possible race issue?

not everything is about race.  get over it.  there was asian student killed in john hopkins mourder a couple of years and the media did not even cover it.  get over yourself.

Her name was Eve. Sorry her last name won't come to me. She was president of the student body and a winner of the coveted Morehead Scholarship. She was also beautiful, and by all accounts, well liked on campus. Her friends loved her. Her murderers were arrested Wednesday, one 21 and the other only 17. So far, the local news has indicated it was just a random murder, totally senseless. I'm anxious to hear more details. We live about two hours from Chapel Hill. It's such a peaceful campus and quaint little town. Just unbelivable that her life was taken by strangers.

My apologies: I just reread your question. I honestly have not heard about the other girl's murder in Durham. No life is unimportant. I think your question is valid, and no, I don't have any nice remarks to make about this young lady, because her story wasn't told. I do think, in fairness, that Eve's position as student body president is what really drew in the media coverage.

The student at UNC-Chapel Hill also happened to be the student body president and her murder made no sense. As I understand it, the other murder is suspected to be drug-related. Do the math.

I take it she was a black girl?  Was she killed by a white guy in a random act of robbery and violence?  They do that all the time you know.

Edit:  Now I'm intrigued.  I looked for anything about a killing at NCCU and couldn't find a thing.  You'd think something would be in the local news.  When did this happen?  I'm beginning to get a little suspicious.

Edit:  OK I found it.  The guy suspected of her murder was picked up a couple of days afterward.  The suspect and the victim knew each other.  The circumstances were quite different in that the suspect wasn't running around driving the victim's car and using the victim's ATM card, getting his picture splashed on the news in an attempt to find him.  He was known almost immediately and picked up quickly.  The only race issue I see is that all the suspects are black.  Is that what you were looking for?
