Truly Blue wins Grade A2 500m event at Sheffield
Truly Blue bagged a magnificent victory by beating his the most favourite hound, Joes Laughter in a Grade A2 greyhound racing event of 500m category at Sheffield race track on January 23.

This outstanding success was a result of the blue dog’s diligence and resilience that he showed on some crucial junctures of the race.
The son of Droopys Maldini ran against Kildare Swallow, Joes Laughter, Outlier Rudi, Rusty Streak and Anville Dean.

Each of his five competitors were experienced and talented, but Truly Blue outperformed all to seal the glaring triumph.
After breaking from trap 2 at 13:58, the dashing dog didn’t experience a good pace in the beginning, and on the basis of that, no one would have expected him to end up with such fabulous results.
Close to the middle of the track, N. Melbourne’s trainee suddenly perked up his pace and took the lead.

With his offensive and dominating attitude, the dog was soon able to maintain a safe distance from the back runners.
The struggle paid off, Truly Blue, and he managed to finish first with a huge margin of 2 lengths. The dog consumed 30.45 seconds in the race.
It was for the 10th time that the hound achieved top spot since the start of his career on February 25, 2011, and was whelped in August 2009.
After last night’s upset, the dog has established himself as the favourite one for the upcoming events.

At the end he walked away with a prize money of £102.
The second position in the race went to, Kildare Swallow, who took 30.61 seconds to reach the finish line after breaking from trap 5.

The blue dog trailed by 2 lengths due bumping in the early stages, which badly hampered his speed. Whelped in December 2009, this dog also gets training from N. Melbourne.
The third top finisher was Joes Laughter. Despite being the top favourite, the white and black dog demonstrated somewhat shoddy performance on the track.

Breaking from trap 3, he bridged the distance in 30.69 seconds, lagging 1 length behind. Whelped in June 2007, he is trained by R Warren.
As a whole, it was a rousing event packed with twists and turns. However, it proved to be a little bit disappointing for the bettors.
