Trumpet help!!!?

my valves are sticky and wont go down at all!!! i dnt have valve oil and i can not go out and get any. i really need 2 practice today! are there any alternatives for valve oil?

  2. I would think that any water based lubricant should work in a situation like this (KY personal lubricant).  I wouldn't recommend using it daily, and when you do get some proper valve oil, make sure to wipe off any residue.

    You might also try just a few drops of olive oil in about 2 ounces of water, mix well, and apply like you would your valve oil.  Again... don't do this for long term use, as over time it will build up and get sticky, and may damage your horn.  Also, when you are done practicing, make sure to wipe it out so it doesn't just sit in your trumpet.

    Hope this works... and when you go to buy valve oil, make sure to buy a couple bottles... it's less expensive than trying to replace your trumpet! LOL

  3. 1) wipe ur valves off w/ a cloth

    2) apply vaseline or maybe a lotion *something smooth* to get them moving!
