Question:

Trust the chart or trust the opk?

So I'm new to charting and I do paper charting, so I don't have a chart to link but....

My chart for last cycle shows that I ovulated on cd13 but the opk didn't test positive until cd 15. We waited to BD until we got the postivie opk (not knowing my temps were rising until afterwards when I saw the pattern). Needless to say, I'm not pregnant.

I'm going to be checking my CM this upcoming month, which I know is really the most accurate way to detect ovulation. But if I see another descrepency between the chart and the opk, which one should I trust for my true O day, and why?

Thanks! Dust to all...

  1. I would deffinately trust the OPK. When charting it is really hard because of the fact that every woman is different. Not every woman has the same length of cycle, and not every woman ovulates half way through her cycle. Go with charting your CM and temperature and the OPK.

And there is also checking your actual cervix yourself (or have your significant other do it) As you get close to ovulation, the cervix will soften and feel like your lips. After ovulation it slowly closes and begins to harden as you get closer to your expected period. When it hardens, it will feel kind of like the tip of your nose.

Good luck, I hope this answers your question!

Sending lots of baby dust your way!

  2. OPK

  3. I don't know but i would trust the OPK. I just took an OPK and got a +! they're pretty accurate. Usually when u get EWCM is when u should test.

  4. My chart matched the mucus.  My opk didn't show I ovulated at all.
