Question:

Trutech brand surround sound...?

We purchased this system awhile ago. My father-in-law is going to install it (through the wall, in the attic and in the other wall). The problem is that the wires are too short. I've searched for the brand and extra wire but can't find any. How do I go about getting additional wire for this system? One end of the current wire has different colored little boxes that plug into the main system. The wires then connect to the speaker on the inside of the speaker wall.

  1. you can cut the wire in half and add some regular 16 gauge wire from radio shack, it works just fine, i did the same thing.

  2. Buy some speaker wire from nearly any store splice into the trutech lines and for safety add a butt connector and some electrical tape on there so the speaker does not come apart in the walls, attic etc.

Make sure to keep the positive and negative cables matched up or just keep the colors the same.
