Mohamed Abdel Moneim Fayed came face-to-face with Lord Justice Scott Baker at the inquest into the deaths of his son Dodi and Diana, Princess of Wales, yesterday. Marking the climax of his efforts to convince the world and a jury of the truth of allegations he tore into the British establishment.
Mr Al Fayed, 75, has spent 10 years trying to prove that his son Dodi and Princess Diana were killed in an assaniation orchestrated by British Intelligence on the orders of senior members of the royal household.
Nor did he understate his case. It was not a murder but a "slaughter", he raged. Diana and Dodi were the victims of "terrorists ... gangsters" who just happened to include some of the most prominent figures in the British establishment, he said.
