Question:

Trying out for Hockey?

by  |  earlier

Two summers ago I tried out for field hockey but I had to quit after a week because it was too much for my body. Every day after camp I would come home in pain but I loved it. I still love it. This year I want to try out again. I have a few questions:

1.How do I get my body into shape?

2.What kind of exercises should I do?

3.Is there anything else you think I should do or know?

Thanks in advance

  1. I play Field Hockey foe 4 years and I love it.

To be in shape you should run so you be tired when you play the game. You should also lift weights, I don't know why should do it but that's what I have to do and it helps a lot!!

You should work with your stick handle when you have the ball and always bend your knees. If you don't your back will be in so much pain.

    Good Luck!!!! :)

  2. I play field hockey and this is what i can tell you:

to get your body into shape i would definatley swim and run alot during the summer.

if your old enough go join your local gym. [its really worth it]

    always stay hydrated.

try and go to your schools track and run.

record your mile time and mile and a half time.

lift weights i would say 5-10lbs each day.

and make sure your practicing your stick skills too. :D

  3. lifts weights

do yoga to build core strength

    eat a better balanced meal

and just run or you can do hard practices

Ladders or herbies or Suicides their all the same things
