  1. even if u have never played volleyball u should get in shape first i recommend running at least a mile a day but in the morning before u eat this way ur body only has the fat stored in you to work with and if you end up going to practice or tryouts u should always atempt to go for the ball the coach would rather have a group of girls jumping at 1 ball insted of girls that stand around well good luck with your volleyball

  2. LOL. DNT PANiC YU HAV ALL SUMMER TO CREATE GREAT ENDURANCE AND STRENGTH. BECAUSE THATS WAT YOU NEED. YOU NEED TO WORK ON YUR:

    LEGS

MAKE SURE YOUR QUADS ARE NiCE AND STRONG. TRUST ME. YOU DEFiNiTLY NEED THEM. BACK AGAINST THE WALL SITTING IN A CHAIR POSITION IS THE BEST. LUNGES AND SQUATES.

    ARMS

iN ORDER TO GET A DECENT OVERHAND YOU CANT B A NOODLE. NOT SAYIN YOU CANT BE SKiNNY[iM 5'4' AND WEiGH 112 lbs] BUT YU NEED MUSLCE STRENGTH

    AND OVERALL SHAPE

EVEN THOUGH YOU STAY ON A HALF COURT YOU STILL MOVE AROUND A LOT. SO MAKE SURE YOU CAN BE ABLE TO DO THAT. iF YOU CAN RUN A MILE EASY..YOU'L B IN GREAT SHAPE. CRUNCHES, TUMMY TiCKLERS, PUSHUPS. AND YOUR BASiC MUCSLE WORKOUTS.

LOL. NOW BACK TO THE BASICS. IM NOT SURE ON YOUR BODY TYPE BUT IF YOUR SHORT YOUR BEST POSITION MIGHT BE D.S. OR MiDDLE BACK. IF YUR TALL BLOCKER WOULD BE PERFECT! OR OUTSiDE HITTER.  LOL. I HOPED ALL THIS RAMBLING ON HELPED. ANYTHInG ELSE? JUS ASK. :D

  3. Exercises to get in shape:

    1) Squats/Jumping jacks/Stairs (build leg muscles so you can jump higher to block and hit the ball)

    2) Push ups/lift weights (stronger arms to hit the ball)

    3) Running/Jogging (for regular fitness)

    4) Swimming laps [use ankle weights of swim with weights in your hands] (stronger arms and legs)

    5) Crunches/sit ups (for abdominals)

  4. I would definately suggest jump roping.  At least a thosand every 4-5 days with a 2-3 day rest period.  Try 100 or so regular 100 on one foot 100 on  the other and then doubles and criss crosses ect.  Second I would try to do a one or two mile run every day or every other day.  Third if you have ever heard of "ladders" I would do those everyday along with the jump ropes.  Im pretty sure If you google search something like "workout ladders" it will show you how.  I'd also work on jumping (in corect form) and most importantly find a friend or two that are framiliar with the sport and pass with them and have them teach you to serve.  Do all this and I will give you 9 out of 10 odds you will be the best at the tryouts!

  5. really what you should do is take a ball and a friend to a local track like at your school. run a lap the first day and then the next run two. on the fourth day run four laps and from then on you will be running a mile a day. the coaches won't make you run more than that each day and it will keep up your stamina. once you are done with your daily running, just pass the ball between you and your friend for like ten minutes, and then after that, practice serving the ball as far as you can overhand across the field. once you get ten to go as high and far as it should have if a net was there, have your friend throw the ball straight up in the air so that you can hit it to the ground. if you do that every day, then you will do great!
