I taught I had a bench warrant for a court date I might have missed but I went to court and It does not show up. I am going to MEPS in one week should I still tell them. I will also like to know if I can get the housing allowance I own a house in Los Angeles and live with my mother and 2 brothers. If I can get it should i have my recruiter put it in my contract?

  1. Tell them just what you posted here. You thought you had a bench warrant and you tried to get it straightened out. The court showed nothing outstanding. By disclosing that you will not be held liable by the Army should it come up later on. On the other hand, if you don't say anything and it becomes an issue, they can get you for enlisting under false pretense. Only they won't kick you out, just discipline you. Not a good way to start a military career huh?

And the housing pay doesn't work like you think. You only get housing pay if:

    1) you are married

    2) there isn't any available 'on base' housing already lined up for you

And the recuiter wouldn't put it in your contract in any case. Those enlistment contracts are pre printed 'forms' and they don't change. All the other details concerning housing can't be addressed until you are at your fist duty station.

The good news is that while you are in basic training (boot camp) you won't be able to spend any of your money anyway. All your meals and lodging will be paid for. So you can bank all your pay.

  2. Do not tell them about your warrant. If it doesn't show then they won't catch it. Call the court and find out as much as you can about the situation first then move on from there.

In order for you to get BAH you have to prove that your family is financially dependent on you. You can't just ask for it. If you can prove you have a job and financially stable then ask your mom to sign a piece of paper for the recruiter and you should get it.

I've been in for 4 years as a Section sergeant man. Don't let them rob you

  3. if if didn't show up when you went to court, it more than likely doesn't exist. just make sure that the ticket has been taken care of one way or another so that it doesn't pop on you at the wrong time.

  4. I taught I saw a puddy tat! Your perfect for the US Army! Don't tell them a thing and you will be in like flint!
