We are trying to find a place we can go in the carribean that is all inclusive. I came up with a ton of places in our price range... However when I gave them to my Mother-in-law (who is arranging this for us) she said no one would let me come because I am 19 (under 21). It didn't matter that he is 22 and we will be married, i had to have a parent/guardian? Anyone know if this is true and/or have any ideas where we could go? Thanks so much for all the help...

  1. in Hope Town, Abaco, Bahamas....the drinking age is 18 you guys would definitely have a great time on this little island.  I would suggest staying at the Hope Town Harbour Lodge.....if you want to know more about the island go here.....

my husband and i got married at the lodge...it is so beautiful there.

  2. How about a Cruise?  Carnival will allow you to cruise with your soon to be husband. See our web site listed below

  3. That actually might be true when it comes to an all-inclusive. Because they charge by each person plus it might include drinks which is usually legal at 18 in the caribbean but many resorts will go by 21 if they know you are coming from the US. If its a couples all inclusive it might be true or she might be trying to stop you from you honeymoon.

But you can still go to the caribbean with your husband. Try looking for an all-inclusive that allows children because then they cant tell you no. Or dont go all-inclusive. Just rent a hotel room under you husbands name, they dont need yours. Dont worry you can definitely go. CONGRATS & enjoy your honeymoon. I would suggest you & your husband booking it instead of her.

  4. I think your mother in law is mistaken... the drinking age is 18 in the carribean, so I don't see why they'd have any problem with a 19 year old.

  5. That is not true. You can travel/fly at age 16 without a parent or guardian.

You need a passport to travel to the Caribbean.

Where do you live that age 19 is not legal age? Here in the USA, legal age is 18.

In the Caribbean or Mexico as long as you are traveling with someone over 21, you are okay. Cruises too. He will be your husband.

Sounds like MIL doesn't want you to go on honeymoon to the Caribbean.

If I were you I would check myself with a travel agency about age restrictions. Call your local agency and ask about the destinations you want to go to and what are the age restrictions.

    Good Luck)
