Whenever I try to burn a DVD on Nero a message always pops up telling me that an error occured.

When this happens the DVD- Drive > where I inserted the disc it won't open up after the message appears, the only way I can get the drive to open is to restart my computer.

Any ideas?

  3. It may also be that you are trying to burn a Dvd at a higher speed than the disc is made for (e.g. 24x when the disc is 16x).

It is more likely that, if you have an old DVD drive, the drive itself is beginning to fail. Dvd drives aren't made that well and in my experience only last about two and a half years or so.
