I've been dating this girl for two years and shew loves me and we probnably will get married. shes 17 heading into 11th grade. and i graduated last year.

i want to join either the navy or air force.

i don't know what career though. im scared of heights well not really just of falling. and im scared of water not really but scared of drowning. so you wouldnt think i would want to join either ha, but i do

im from a small town but like tri-county area. 50 thousand combines my town alone has 5 thousand. and its boring just watching every day pass and just same old thing wake up get dressed go to bed and repeat.

when i get out of either of these though i want to at least be making 55K a year and not being in a stressful job.

going back to the girlfriend i dont want joining ruining us and were to young to marry and she has 3 years of school left. i dont want to do reserve B.S. i want active.

i want to travel the world and have her with me. i want to see so many places where only you would think existed in fantasy movies.

i want to be some one.

i dont want to jump out of planes or swim a lot though.

but i want to see italy go to dolce runways. go to LA see kobe bryant play i want to do so much and these two are where its possible..

now. try to convince me which one will be best.

thanks =]

  1. i say join the air force

from the info you gave me thats going to be the best choice for you

  2. If you really want to be with her join the air force.  You will see the world in the navy while she stays home and sees norfolk.  In the air force you will be home almost every night

  3. Bigger chance of seeing Italy in the Air Force. And the Air Force has a lot of jobs that you would never need to go up in a plane doing, such as:

    Engineer

    Ground Radar Systems

    Radio Communications Systems

    Logistics Plans

And of course there's a lot more...

  4. Italy?

The Army has one base in Northern Italy.

The Navy has: Napoli, Aversa, Agnano, Gieta, la Modd. Five bases in Italy.

The Air Force has no bases in Italy.

  5. How did you do in school? Are you good at math? Join the Navy and go into the Nuclear Power Program. Here's a link to the Navy Careers website:

or you can take the test to see what program best suits you:

Also you can plan on taking the path to be an Officer:

All your time in the Navy will not be sea duty unless you you stay in less time than you sea rotation. Once you have a career path chosen you can find out what the Sea/Shore rotation will be. My Sea/Shore rotation was 5 years sea duty and 3 years shore. If you one of the lucky ones you may get shore duty first.

I'm a Navy Vet so I'm kind of partial to the Navy but your two choices are the best fo getting a technical career when you get out.

  6. choose the Air Force. Quality of Life is better.

  7. I am in the navy and I have similar issues with water and heights. I have found that neither job is bad because of those issues. I have never had any issues with being out on the water; actually I really enjoy it. You might go out on a small fishing vessel (the ocean on ships is truly not nearly as bad as small vessels, but they do move). I have never gotten sea sick, and that would be the decision maker for me.If I got seasick, I would join the AF. Good luck and I hope this helps. If you have other concerns, please let me know.

  8.   If she has two years left why don't you start in an ROTC Program and get two years of College under way, Two more years and you can enter the service as an Officer and tell the rest where to go. No matter which srvice you enter it's a better life and she may just llive on-base as an officers wive than as an E-1 or E-2's wive where you will be finding off-base housing and making up the differance in your housing allowance and the rent. Just something to think about.
