Trying to conceive/Ovulation kits?

hubby & i are trying for our 1st baby. neither of us has any children, so its all new to us! (Get ready for TMI...warning) here's the deal: my cycles tend to be VERY off and inconsistent so it can be hard to pinpoint ovulation using traditional methods. i'd like to purchase the ovulation kits you urinate on and predict ovulation, but i think you have to be only a few days past your cycle. i haven't gotten a cycle in 6-7 weeks. is it worth it to buy? knowing my body, it could be another month or 2 before TOM arrives.

  1. go to this website! i buy my pregancy tests here and my ovulation tests here! i bought 16 preg strips and 8  ovulation strips for $15 and they work great! they are just like the ones in the stores but alot cheaper! so you can buy 20 ovulation strips for $18 and get free shipping! good luck( the more you buy the cheaper they are)

  2. I would wait until the day after your period (When it finally comes lol) to start using them. I use Answer Brand because they come with 20 test strips which will be really good for you since your cycles seem to be so long! They have always worked great for me. You can get them at Walmart for about $18 if you buy Answer Brand. The others are about the same price or a little more expensive and they only have 7 tests. Good luck!! And tons of baby dust your way!

  3. I recommend First Response, OPK..

it worked for me when other's didn't..

  4. I strongly recommend you consult a doctor on this. First your periods need to be regulated, and then your chances are increased.

My husband and I have been TTC for 3 years with no luck yet. First you should go to your dr and just get a check up. For your cycles not to be regular there could be a hormone in-balance or you could have PCOS. So def go and get checked to start ruling things out. Second, I would start charting your Basal Body Temperature. This is taken first thing in the morning before you even get up. It also tells you when you ovulate by your temps. As for the OPKs. They take a long time to get use to and to figure out when to test etc. They can be very expensive. I use the clear blue ovulation kit and they seem to work the best for me. But like I said you got to really get in the groove so to say for using them. I hoped this helped alittle. I wish you and your husband they best of luck TTC.
