Question:

Trying to concieve?

we have been trying for a few months and this was my first month of taking temps, charting, and checking cervical fluid.

i have been using fertility friend.com and software called taking charge of your fetility-they both predicted my fertility days within a day or so of each other.

we have had s*x on everyone of my fertile days and my predicted ovulation day.

i also took a first response ovulation test about 3 days ago and it was positive.

we are praying that its this month that i get pregnant.

how soon should i take a test?

is it possible to see signs/symptoms before your missed period?

i have been taking prenatal vitamins since the start of this cycle, do they really increase your chances of getting pregnant?

Sorry about all the questions, I'll try to stop asking so many, its just we really want a baby and i want to do everything possible to help make it happen.

serious answer only please

  1. You can test two weeks after your conception date.  My doctor told me to have s*x every other day on my fertile days.  I would make sure to keep having s*x every other day just in case you really didn't ovulate when you think you did.  I'm not sure if taking prenatals makes you more fertile, but it can't hurt.  Good luck to you!

  2. I've been TTC #1 for 3 years now (today is actually our 3rd wedding anniversary, yay for me LOL).  Try taking one of those tests that can tell 5 days before, or stock up on the cheapo tests from Dollar Tree so you can test every day if you want.

  3. Wait a week after your missed period, your result will be accurate with HPT. This test measures the hCG hormone in your urine. So if it is too low then you will get a false negative.  If you can't wait... take a blood test.  I am sending baby dust your way:)

  4. I am not for sure that prenantel pills actually help your chances but I have heard so I did the same thing i started taking them a month prior to actually starting to concieve....I know you want this bad and I know every girl thats trying is in your same posistion....I really don't think you should keep worrying try to keep busy and take baby off your mind it helps....also if you want to test you should wait for your next period and if its light or doesn't come take a prego test if it's negative wait two more weeks take another one if still negative go get blood work done by your doctor if you still think you are pregnant. I know its hard but try to forget about a baby i know its haha its always in the back of your mind but try really hard don't chart, don't do anything just live life and have s*x every 2-3 days after the end of your period...I know its hard but try i have been trying for 3months now and the 2 months i was like you waiting every second and worrying 24/7 hoping i was pregnant i just stressed my self out finally everyone i talked to said stop trying so hard you wont get pregnant don't chart don't think about getting pregnant just make love so i took the advice im still a lil worried because we always will be but I have a feeling this is or month since i didn't do anything or worry and stress about it as much....I hope your prego and much much baby dust to you!!! GOOD LUCK!! i wish you all the best and i hope my anwser helped a little!

  5. When I got pregnant I took the test that could provide an early positive 5 days before the missed period.

I tested 5 days before and it was negative, then I waited and took it 2 days before and it came up positive.  So you really  have to wait a bit before you can test.

I "knew" within days of conception that I was pregnant- I was in Italy and I walked through a sidewalk cafe and my stomach just turned and I had to get away from the smell.  Some people say it's impossible to know that soon but I swear I did.

    Good luck to you!!!

  6. You can test as early as the next day of your missed period. Some people have all the symptoms of preggers even before they miss their period (nausea, breast tenderness, fatigue etc.) and some dont. each one is different. some dont have any symptoms at all

prenatal vitamins help in the development of the baby and i dont think it increases chances of getting pregnant.

i do understand your situation. i am ttc for 7 months. missed my period. had a negative test and am worried. relax. everything will be fine.

stress is our worst enemy at present :) all the best. take care

  7. to avoid anything that's to intellectual, have s*x every day.

  8. The software programs are just estimates.  It is better to have s*x at least 3 days before, during, and 3 days after ovulation (approximately 7 consecutive days).  Unfortunately, ovulation is very difficult to predict with out lab tests.

OTC Preg tests are usually accurate, if taken during the recommend time frame, and all directions are followed.

Some couples take up to a year before becoming pregnant, if you try for that long with no success you need to consult a physician.

You need to take prenatal vitamins (or any vitamin)continuously for it to be effective.  They meant to insure you are healthy with the necessary vitamins and minerals needed to carry a healthy baby.  I have never heard of them increasing the chances of conception.

If you miss a period, and the OTC test are positive, then it is a good time to call the doctor for confirmation of pregnancy.

I hope this helps, but for more info go to babycenter.com  it is a really good website for preconception and pregnancy.
