everytime i try to run the easy/EQ setup i always get a test error after the left speaker runs the first test. i am trying to play this in unison with a ps3 connected via hdmi input to receiver. for some reason i can only get 2 channel audio when playing music from the ps3 and i know its capable of playing full surround but cant figure this one out.

I had to manually connect the bose speakers and cannot run easy/EQ to configure the proper surround. when i watch movies or play games i can get into nearly full surround.. meaning, for blu-rays encoded with 5.1 dolby digital EX i am only able to get a 5.1 response instead of 6.1!??!

for ps3 games some of them i get the full 6.1 surround...

  1. You are probably seeing this error because the Acoustimass processes the sound  itself, in order for the system to process this it would need a true LFE sub.  Try setting the speakers to small with no subwoofer enabled.  This should at least get your equalizer setting in the right range.

Secondly, the ps3 will only process 2 channel audio if the source is 2-channel.  So, you will have to use the pro-logic or one of the other muti-field processors to get adequate multi-speaker sound.

Check that the HK is or has DD-EX, if it does not, than you will only get 5.1, if you use that digital setting, If you wan't to change it use a pro-logic or other surround switch.
