Trying to cut my electricity bill down, does turning off power on powerstrip truley turn the power off?

does turning the power button to off on my powerstrip truely discconect the power or do you have to unplug it from the wall so its not drawing "phantom" electrical current?

  1. Yes it helps, just turning off the power strip will save you 30 percent on your overall energy bill.


  2. Yes. It shuts it off completely as if you unplugged it.

    The phantom power thing is usually for the little wall-wart transformers like cell phone chargers or devices that never really shut off, like TV's and Stereo equipment.

    X-Box 360  power supplies stay on too, I've noticed.
