  1. Think about going north instead.

  2. I recommend driving to Galway city and staying there a night, it's definitely worth a day. From there drive through Clare through the Burren and stop at the Cliffs of Moher; you could either stay the night in Lahinch (a lovely village on the mouth of the River Shannon) or Ennis.

After this a leisurely drive to Bunratty where you again could stay the night after visiting Bunratty castle, the Folk Park and Durty Nelly's. You could then visit Limerick, but I wouldn't stay the night there, since it is a rather rough and tumble city. Driving up to Dingle & the Ring of Kerry would be a bit of a stretch for one day. I'd return to Bunratty, which just a short distance from Shannon Airport, and spend a leisurely last night in Ireland.

  3. I don't know if you have any particular reason for choosing the Cork/Waterford route, but another possibility would be to drive straight across to Galway for two nights, then down to Limerick for two nights. You can hit the Ring of Kerry easily in a day trip from Limerick, though personally I much prefer the Dingle peninsula.

Either way, you'll be spending a lot of time in the car instead of out enjoying yourself.

  4. if you ask me you should stay in Wicklow... it's absolutely fantastic. in fact what you can do there is walk the Wicklow Way (if you're into walking that is), trust me it's breath-taking :D. Even if you're not the walking type of person, Wicklow has a really lot to offer and is full of surprises.

If you wish to do the walk, why not contact Wonderful Ireland (sorry  i have no numbers but you could ask for Peter Galvin)... they arranged my holiday perfectly and they're absolutely halpful too!

    Good luck and enjoy it!!
