Trying to diet. How many calories should I be taking in a day?

I'm 6'0" about 195 pounds. I've been exercising 3-4 times a week, and taking in about 1200-1300 calories a day. Is this the right type of diet?

  2. Dude, you actually burn about 1500 a day if all you do is stay in bed.

    With normal activity, about 500 more. Formal exercise, even more.

    Stick to 1200 a day and you oughta be able to lose couple pounds a week.

  4. Your calories are low enough but you have to eat the right things too.  Try to eat fish, lean meat, eggs, chicken, vegetables, and drink lots of water.  Limit your carbs to 100 grams a day or less and you'll get better results.
