Trying to downgrade to XP

Question

Have a Toshiba L305-S5865 that shipped with Vista Home Premium. Have been attempting to "downgrade" to XP. Problem is SATA hard drive. XP installation CD does not recognize it. Have tried using nLite to burn a new install CD with embedded drivers but still no luck. Maybe I don't have the right driver(s.) Drive is a Toshiba MK1646GSX. Pentium Dual T2390 and Intel ICH8M-E/M SATA AHCI controller. Any suggustions would be appreciated. Thanks.
