I have always gotten my period around the same time every month and it has always lasted 5-7 days...up until June...i just didnt have a period the whole month of June and in July i started but only had it for 3 days then nothing... I am trying to get pregnant...im not that stressed about trying or anything we just started trynig this month but im a little worried about my cycle messing up... just because its odd. So i guess my question is... since my cycle hasnt been "normal" in the last 2 months could i still get pregnant?

  1. You can still get pregnant with a not so regular cycle but it can be much harder. Anything can cause your period to skip a month etc... stress(you said you weren't but just throwing it out there), losing or gaining wait quickly, exercise. Many things.

Oh BC(birth control) can cause missed cycles when first coming off them and can take time to get completely out of your system.

What I'd suggest is charting and using Opks.  That will def tell you what is going on. You just starting trying but it can take the average couple with no problems a yr to get pregnant! Once a year comes around and you still aren't pregnant tell your doctor so that you and your husband can be tested.

If your cycles stay irregular from now on you might can go in before a year because you will know something isn't right.

    Good luck!!

Thanks for the added info. I have irregular cycles but always have and it took about 6 mths to get preg. We've now been ttc #2 for 8 yrs.

I'd say chart just to make sure you are still Ovulating etc..

  2. It is possible that you are still ovulating, even though your cycle length has not been strictly regular. I would start keeping track of all of your dates, it will give you more insight into what's happening with you. Read about charting your temps, it will take a lot of the guesswork- you can go to www.fertilityfriend.com or www.tcoyf.com to learn how.

    Good luck

  3. Did you take a pregnancy test? The 3 day period in July could have been implantation bleeding.

If you did and it came back negative, it could be changes in your cycles or hormone changes, in which case it may be good to get checked by a doctor. If you are not getting a period and you are not pregnant,  it is more than likely that you did not ovulate the month before, and if you don't ovulate you cannot get pregnant, which is why I'm suggesting that you see a doctor. It may be nothing, but at least you'll have peace of mind. Good luck!

  4. Yes, you can still get pregnant! I even had a very irregular cycle myself..

It's crazy...here you are, trying your hardest to get pregnant..and then on Yahoo answers, you see 13 year olds posting dumb questions about how they became pregnant and how they're so scared! *gasp*

It's almost a joke, really. My husband and I tried to conceive for a while year. Last year around Thanksgiving time, it finally happened. I think it wasn't happening for a whole year because I was stressing so much over it. I kept thinking about the baby. I kept counting days, researching my ovulation charts, reading about all kinds of crazy methods to conceive a child. I had baby on the brain. Finally in November last year, I gave up. I had a move to think about. I had to pack things, clothes, furniture...had to get an apartment, start paying new bills with my husband, make a road trip to our new state..things were hectic and I forgot about baby-making, and somewhere around that time, it happened. I think when you are anticipating a child, your body isn't going to respond only because of how the stress hormones are high even though you don't know it. And this can even put your cycle off. It sucks, really. I have some really helpful sites for you though..you should check them out:
