Question:

Trying to find Wi-fi password...?

My family's Wi-fi network was installed by the Geek Squad. They set it up for two laptops and a computer. Unfortunately, the network is password protected and I don't know what the password is. Can I somehow use the connected laptops/computer to find the wi-fi password?

  1. Step 1) Call 800-433-5778

Step 2) Give them your information and they will look up your account.

Step 3) Have them read out your encryption key, or just e-mail you a copy of your receipt.

  2. You need a wifi cracker, which is a bit "black hat".

You could download one at http://bravo6.net

  3. Call geek squad and tell them you need the password.

  4. Call the Geek Squad.  You paid them to setup your system. They should have left you this information.

They are responsible for turning over to you ALL setup information, including passwords, before leaving your house.

  5. You should be able to as long as the laptops and computer are using Windows Wireless configuration thingy

Try this on the laptops that work:

  6. If they set it up right you can't "find" them out.  That's the point of good passwords.  I could explain how to reset it but then you'd have to call Geek Squad out again to fix the settings...

They should have provided all the passwords/keys for you when they set it up.  You need to call them and ask for the information (they'll probably have to send someone out to reprogram everything)

  7. Call your Internet provider and they will lead you through it.
