Trying to find my cousin?

My cousin was adopted as a baby, and I'm desperate to find her. I'm getting married in May, and want my whole family there. THough I've never met her, she's family and must be there! Her birth name was Nicolette Lawson. Father's name was Jeffrey Winter. Mother's name was Jennifer Lawson.

She would be around 22-23 years old. I'm not sure of her birthday. She was born in Waukesha County, Wisconsin. Anyone that can help, or give me ideas to find her, please help.

I wish I could help you, but I've been looking for someone for three years with no luck.  At least you where she was born.  If that is the same area she was adopted from, run an ad in the personals with as much info as you have and ask anyone with any info regarding that person to contact you.  Good luck.

That's a tough one.  Was she placed through an agency, or a lawyer?

You could try contacting the agency who handled the adoption.  Maybe they could act as an intermediary and send a letter to her on your behalf (although you might have to pay a search fee).  I doubt they'd give out her identifying info, but they might act as a go-between.  Or they might let you put something in her file in case she contacts them (though I wouldn't put a whole lot of trust in that).

It's hard to look at this from the reverse angle...maybe they'd give you "non-id info" on her and tell you where she went after the adoption...IDK...sometimes they are helpful, sometimes not.  I guess I'd start there and see how willing they are to help you out.

Since Wisconsin is a sealed records state, I doubt you could access her amended birth certificate either, to see what her adopted name is...ack this is hard.  I wish I could help more, sorry!

Maybe you could contact the agency, and tell them what you just told us. Another thing that most people don't think about doing is looking on myspace. You can search people's names and maybe she'll be there. Also try facebook. Sometimes trying the obvious things works. Like maybe [e-mail] or [e-mail]. Any little things helps. Google Her. Maybe try and find Jeffrey Winter and Jennifer Lawson on the above listed things. I hope you find her! If not just imagine that she's ok.
