Trying to find out how to find my insurance policy

my mother died and she had a policy for me and my sister but we lost the information and have had no luck in trying to find it. i was adivsied to look up something called mib what is that and how can i find and or what is its number or address

  1. OK, it's not YOUR policy, you're the presumed beneficiary.

    Are you the executor of her estate?  You have to be, in order to get her cancelled bank records.   That's the easiest way.  You also have to be, to get the MIB report.  Here's the link to their website:  http://www.mib.com/html/lost-life-insura...

    You'll need to attach a copy of the letter of authority from the court, proving you are the estate executor.    If you aren't the executor, you have to have the executor do this.  Being the daughter isn't "good enough", legally, sorry.


  2. If it exists, it is your mother's policy, not yours.  Records of it should be in her personal records.  MIB is not the place to go.

  3. The MIB is the correct place to search. You will need a copy of your mothers Death Certificate and a Payment of $75.00 but this site will help you locate any missing life policies.  Sorry to hear about your loss.  Good luck in your search.
