  1. might have to contact the US embasy, to get a temp ID.... don't know the border rules anymore.

  2. JuanRamon M, seriously nice effort but shes trying to get back to the us (indicating that shes not inside the country) so the whole (if calling from the US)... usless. i dont think your gonna have a problem. good luck

  3. you are not the first person to have their wallet stolen in Tijuana--the border patrol has procedures for this situation. Worst case scenario is that you'll be taken into a room and interviewed until they are satisfied that you're not a terrorist, drug trafficker or gun runner.  It should be an easy question and answer session.

  4. This is just my opinion, but it would seem your birth certificate is the best ID you can possess. My friends coming in from Canada presented United States ID's which were considered insufficient. They were actually asked to produce a birth certificate. So there you have it.

  5. Perhaps this will be useful to you... there is a US consulate in TJ.

This is the contact information stated on the website for citizen services:

    Address:

    American Citizen Services

    Ave. Tapachula # 96

    Colonia Hipodromo, 22420

    Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico

    Telephone:

    (664) 622-7400

(Dialing from the U.S. 011-52 + phone number)

    Fax:

    (664) 686-1168

    E-mail:

    ACSTijuana@state.gov

    *****

    Additional info:

I did get the question right, I just posted the information from the consulate site "As Is". If you want to call them from TJ you need to dial 622-7400 (just remove the area code).

If I were in your place, (Mexican lost pasport/id in the US) the first thing I would do is go to the Mexican consulate, report it and go through the proper procedures needed to return home. IMO it is a much better thing to do than trying to play a trick on the border agents.

Good luck whatever you try to do!

  6. Birth cert. should be fine.  They may also require PHOTO id, though.

  7. Your fine dude.

get your passport as the law changes next July and there will be a huge volume of applicants.
