My boyfriend and I are from Illinois, and go to college at the University of Iowa. He has an uncle in Iowa, and has changed is address with the school to show that he "lives" with his uncle in order to get the in-state tuition rate. Is there anything else we need to do to "prove" this? Get an Iowa drivers license, send mail there, etc.? And if they decide that he is lying and doesn't actually live there, what can happen?

  1. my daughter actually did live in California but had previously lived in Hawaii.  when she applied for school in California (and she was a true resident, not committing fraud like you 2 are) she had to submit drivers license, paystubs from work going back several months, a letter from her employer stating the amount of time she worked there and utility bills for months.  good luck with your fraud scheme, hope they dont decide to check on your story

  2. Check out http://www.registrar.uiowa.edu/residency... for University of Iowa residency guidelines.  Don't lie on the application.  Don't know exactly what could happen if found out, but it could be anything from having to pay the non-resident tuition rate for all terms he received resident tuition to getting kicked out of school.
