I got into a car accident (was my fault) an officer showed up.We told him what happened (my foot slipped off the brake on a down hill slope) then We both gave him our Drivers license, insurance cards, and registrations. He went to his car for bout 10 min or so. Came back asked us both if we knew for sure we were ok. then asked us if the address on our DL was the placed we lived and current. Handed us everything back then told us both to have a nice day and drive safe. He didn't get me a ticket nor anything else. and i waited 3.5 weeks (before i left on a trip... still on it) and didn't receive anything in the mail. so just wondering if i'll be ok to still get into the AF and if it'll show up on anything? Cause i haven't said anything to my recruiter yet

  1. no a minor traffic violation wont stop you from going in but be honest with your recruiter

  2. Talk to your recruiter. I was in the air force and so is my grandson. He had bigger problems then you have, and they worked them out. He loves the air force. has been in for two years of a six year hitch.Making rank and going to school.

  3. Tell your recruiter, but since you weren't issued a citation, you're probably in the clear.  You could call and get a case number to see if you're going to be cited-probably a good idea.

  4. You can tell your recruiter about it, but they're looking for flagrant violations of the law (underage drinking, drug use, etc...)  They don't mind if you've been in an accident, your fault or not.
