Trying to get pregnant after the depo shot?

i had my first baby in 09-05, but i ever since getting on the depo shot after her birth, i do not have my periods. i have been off the shot for over a year now, and am not on any birth control. we have been trying to get pregnant for over 4 months now, is there anyone with any tips or insight?
