So I have been off birthcontrol (nuvaring) since Feb. my husband and I are trying to have another child but nothing seems to be working. When I got pregnant with my son i was off my pill for like 2 weeks and boom prego!! I know it sounds stupid but I have gained some weight since I got pregnant with my son. Could that have to do with the fact its taking me so long now?? We really want to have another one. Any suggestions on how to get pregnant like now?? 10 points for best answer. Im desperate. Thanks

  1. What you need is to know when your body is ovulating so you can have s*x at the right time.  The formula says women ovulate mid-cycle, but this is not true for everyone.

Your own body gives signs of fertility that you can watch for.  To learn how to do this, there is a book called Taking Charge of Your Fertility.  There is also a web site with a free online course called Fertility Friend.  Both are great resources that will put you on the track to #2.

    Good luck!

  2. Try 2 weeks before your period and you should be expecting it worked for me could work for you too. Also laid on your back when the little swimmers are inside you and let it soak through your uterus!

  3. Are you charting your BBT's?

    Are you doing OPK's?

Extra weight can cause a problem---FOR SOME PEOPLE!  Some women are heavier than others and have no trouble, but some have extra weight, and find they get pregnant when they lose that weight.

I'd suggest charting your BBT's to see that you are for sure ovulating, and doing OPK's to find out when you are most fertile.  Then, you can time your baby dancing right.  Stick your hips up on a pillow for 30 minutes after.

    Good luck-baby dust!

  4. Well being off neuva ring is a lil different ive heard it can take about 6 months for it to be out of you system the pill was so much ezer because its just day by day, you will if you have gotten pregnant before you will again, i gained 23 pounds between my kids BEST LUCK =)>

  5. check out the clearblue easy fertility monitor.

it runs about $100 at the pharmacy.  it is a machine that uses special ovulator strips to test your hormone levels EVERYDAY.  it is more accurate than testing a few days out of the month with regular ovulation predictor kits.It tracks your low, high, and peak days of ovulation so you know when to have s*x with increased chances of pregnancy.

EVERYONE that i know that used the machine (myself included) was pregnant within 4 months.

    look at the site

    good luck

  6. Gaining weight can definitely play a factor in baby making. Check out this website it is packed with TONS of tips to help your conception be as healthy and fast as possible. well i hope i helped!!!

really read it. its helpful i promise!!!!

  7. I've seen many resources suggesting that waiting 6 months to a year after stopping birth control is the best bet, as the hormones can still be in your system. Perhaps, that is the hindering factor. Another possibility is that your cycle has changed. After years of birth control I discovered that I was no longer ovulating. After 2 months of Clomid, I was pregnant!!

Good luck! I'm sure you will figure everything out!!

  8. "gained some weight" as in what? 20 lbs. or 200 lbs.?  If 20 lbs. then shouldn't be an issue as that is what my wife gained abouts from baby 1 to 2.  If 200 lbs. and your gut is in the way, the maybe your husband doesn't have the same "reach" any more.

I would say, don't think too much and do your timing right.  Let him build up his army for the right time to launch them.  Don't just do the jack rabbit pump every night leading up to the big night... it won't work.

  9. its not your weight. some times it can take several months or a couple years to get pregnant. not because of your weight but because of your timing. maybe you should have s*x more often... or you could buy one of those kits from the drug store to track your ovulation so you know the best time to conceive
