I've only hooked one side so far (right), but i'm getting interferance noise in addition to the audio track i'm playing. My computer speakers are fine. My amp and speakers are fine, as well as the input jack on my amp. The line from my comp to the amp is longer than need be. the line is about 50 feet, but i could cut 15 feet off that. Is that the problem??? Thanks.

  1. I highly doubt that the length is your problem.  It would more likely be a loose connection or a short somewhere in the wire.  Also, it may be a grounding problem if your PC and Stereo are connected on different circuits in your house.

  2. it could be the problem considering a sound card doesn't put out very much power for such a long run.

you might even have to cut more than 15ft.

  3. 1. Try to cut down the length of your cable.

    2. Use shielded cable.

    3. Remove or mute any unused input on your computer's volume control (goto Volume Control->Options->Properties and uncheck any unused input).

    4. Experiment a bit with volume.  For example: turn down volume on your PC and turn up volume on your amp.
