When the phone is connected I do receive a dial tone. I am trying to find any illistrations that would show how to hook up the lines to the DSL using the filters and splitters. When I hook receiver lines into the splitter than put into filter then line into wall I get no dial tone? Should it be going into DSL line? or the Ethernet line? I have it going to phone line.

  1. Sorry for the double post, but Yahoo changed DSL to DAL with the spell check.

I am not entirely sure of what equipment you have, but I'll make 2 suggestions.

You should have a filter/splitter combo from your DSL filter, it has a short phone cord on it and 2 female connections.  One side says Line(phone) and the other side says DSL or DSL/HP NA.  If you have that, then connect the cord to your phone jack in the wall and connect the DSL to the DSL side.  Never connect anything other than the DSL line to your modem on the DSL side of a filter/splitter.  Then connect your dish receiver into the Line(phone) side of the filter/splitter.  Also, the Ethernet line goes to your PC only.  It goes from the DSL modem to the PC.

If you do not have a combo filter/splitter or you are using it in a different jack, and you have a filter with 1 connection on it and a 2 way splitter, then connect the 2 way splitter in the wall jack, then put the filter in one side of the 2 way splitter and connect the dish receiver to the filter, then connect the DSL line into the other side, the non-filtered side of the 2 way filter.

  2. from the phone jack you can install the filter. from the filter you can connect the splitter, from the splitter you can connect the 2 line cords, one to the phone, the other to the DTV box.
