The stock has a triangular hole, it's single barrel and 'break/folding' action.

  1. Sounds as if it is a cheap belgian gun made around 1930-1950, they were imported by the hundreds. I had one, handy little tool.

Check the proof marks on the barrel they will identify it.

  2. It's a folding .410, or poacher's gun made to fit in an inside pocket, if as already suggested it is of Belgium manufacture, it can be easily identified, the Liege proof mark is an obelisk on a plinth, which will be stamped on the barrel, the action is also marked, for many years under Belgium law, it carries a mandatory severe penalty, to shorten or remove any metal from any gun barrel, this included polishing the bore to remove pits, and for this reason the weight of the barrels at proof is stamped on the barrel, in grams, I'm not aware of what other proof houses Belgium has.

Iv'e just seen your additions weigh the barrel.

If it's on ticket try a reputable gunsmith, bear in mind to be classed as a shotgun the barrel must be at least 24" long other restrictions also apply, if legal you could offer it for sale in an auction. and buy it back, this way you just pay the auctions 10% fee, to get the true value.

  3. What your discribeing, is known as a skeleton stock 410,

the beauty of braking mechanisme allows the gun to fold compleatly in half making it easy to conceal and making it the perfect poaching gun, as already suggested by the above.

Again the oragin of the gun could quite be belgian,

dose the gun posses a hammer ?

Othere manufacturer that made guns similar to what you describe were

    Cooey and baikal.

As to the cost of the gun i would not expect any thing more than £140

    or less then £60
