Trying to import video from

Question

Trying to import video from Sony Digital 8mm camcorder and get about 2 minutes into the download and it freezes up. I have a brand new top of the line HP 9400 computer that should handle the Roxio Creator 9 software. Had about the same problem with my 4 year old laptop last year and figured it was a memory issue. Obviously it is a software problem, not a computer problem.
