Im an NCO in the Army (E-5) and Im trying to get promoted but my points are maxed out. The PT is the only thing thats holding me back. Since im stationed in Colorado I cannot get used to the altitude and it hurts my run time. Is thee any way for me to improve my run by getting over the altitude. At sea level I can run like 14 mins 2 mile, but here I run like 16:30.

  1. it depends on how long you have been stationed at altitude.

Your body will grow and store more red blood cells to compensate for the lack of oxygen in the air.

In a couple of months you should be acclimated and be able to train.

Just take it easy, and don't push yourself to the collapse point.

Drink more water than normal because you will become dehydrated faster and not realize it.

If you continue to do your distance running you should be seeing improvement as your conditioning gets better.
