Trying to keep updated on a flight status?

Question

I have family flying today and I have their flight numbers. I'd like to stay updated with where they are in the air etc. It's been a year or so since I've done this. Can you tell me some websites I can do this on? Thanks!

Flight View Gives the Exact Location of Any Flight  

           

These days, picking up someone at the airport is a real pain. If the flight is late, you end up circling the parking lot for what seems like hours.

           

Before you head to the airport, check out FlightView.com. This site lets you enter the Airline Name and the Flight Number and view on your computer screen the exact location of the flight. It even gives you the exact take off and expected landing times as well as currently altitude and speed. It's definitely the site to go to before you head to the airport.

You can search for flights in the US on http://www.flightaware.com/ just input the airline and the flight number and you will see where they are!

First you need to know what airline your family is traveling on then, you can get on the airlines website for ex: United, Northwest, Delta, American etc... and you can type in the flight number and see if it is delayed, on time, or in-flight. you just have to look for flight services or flight status button from the main page! So yeah you can stay updated on the flights from the airline's website, so you know what your family's plane is doing!
