So here's the deal:
I have:
A Canon DC 210 mini DVD camcorder with the white, red, and yellow AV cables that records in MPEG2 mode
Sony Vaio Desktop VGC-LT35E with windows vista home premium
AVS video converter 6 (A third party codec converter)
I want to:
Transfer my home movies off the finalized mini-DVD to my harddrive, edit them in windows movie maker, publish edited movie to harddrive, and burn to decent quality DVD without having to use my third-party software to change format.
I've been running in circles with Support to fix these problems, and at present time I have to - Transfer DVD using click to disc, transfer the MPEG is spits out (you can't change this setting) to AVI using my converter (if I don't the video doesn't play correctly... it stutters and stops. Per customer support I've redownloaded & updated my video drivers twice, and deleted software) edit the movie in WMM, and publish as AVI, the only avaiable format that doesn't add a huge...
