Question:

Trying to mod a cell phone LCD screen to play regular DVD input??

I tore up a malfunctioning cell phone and from that I have the two sided LCD screen piece, and was wondering if anyone knew how to mod that to make it work from a regular video output from like a DVD player. The smaller LCD side is cracked because I messed with it a little too much. However the larger side is still perfect. I still have the other motherboard pieces and random stuff if they are needed (I can take more pictures of them if needed). I can also get a hold of things like a battery, soldering iron, wire etc. Just tell me what I need to do!

  1. Unless you have an electronics degree and a few months spare time, this is virtually impossible I'm afraid.

You need to find a way to interface to the LCD's controller, which will be different on any LCD. The NTSC scanning video signal then needs to be broken down and somehow fed to the controller, using a custom-made driver circuit.

Not easy at all I'm afraid - it's one of these things where "if you're asking, you can't do it". Sorry.
