Trying to move to the UK with a Student visa and overwhelmed with restrictions. what steps do i need to take?

So I'm trying to get a visa to move to the UK..... finding it's not so easy.... Luckily I have yet to finish my schooling and I can get a student visa. I'd like to live there for longer than 6 months and I just don't know what exactly i need to do. web-sites are confusing and I need something in leiman's terms (spelling?) anywho... HELP! easy steps would be appreciated and extra INFO on England would help.... just some advice would do!
