My mom is trying to move w/ job in 30 days. Her plan is to have my brother pay the rent for a few months and then hopefully find a job and take over the rent. She is so hard-headed so, I can't talk to her. She has not had a job in about 9 months. My brother has been paying to rent. This is so dumb! Should I just let it happen or get ready to live on the streets!

  1. Its booming in Houston, TX and in Wyoming in the Oil/Gas Industry. I suggest relocation to those areas if you need a job.

  2. Most landlords don't like renting to unemployed people.   And if your mother doesn't have a job lined up at the place where she is moving to.  Then she may have a hard time finding a place to rent.

Perhaps you should be prepared to end up on the streets.  If your mother moves without arranging for a place to rent ahead of time.

  3. The south is NOT booming, ha,ha, maybe Houston, but not the rest...it never has. North Central FL is horrible right now, there aren't any jobs.Try Virginia.  Your mom makes the decisions, I know it is frustrating for you.  She is going to have a harder time finding a job because of her age, I know, I am middle-aged, so you have to be patient.  Our society prefers youth over experience.  If you have a brother, I doubt you will really be homeless.

  4. I hear it's booming in Texas, Pittsburgh, the South, etc...

The largest (almost sole, in fact) determinant of geting a job IN REALITY is if you've got a bachelor's degree or not
