  1. I'd like to mount a campaign to encourage people not to go anywhere. Travel has become so expensive and unpleasant that it's hard to understand why people don't stay home.

Why are we crowding our highways and airports to get someplace else? Newspapers and magazines are filled with ads trying to get us to travel. They want us to go somewhere - anywhere but home.

  2. if u r 2 start from north come from delhi, agra. if ur keen about south india then come to madurai ,near madurai there are many city vilage which has lot of temples ,stroies,on its developments etc........

come here and enjoy a lot...............

    http://www.yatraindia.com/

    must visit Gujarat

  4. its summer time here in india and its extremely hot. so go to some hill stations like KUlu-Manali, Shrinagar, Pahelgam, Gulmarg, Shimla, Ooty, Kodaikanal, Darjeeling, Mussoire, Nainital etc. go to this link to find oout more: http://www.famous-india.com/hill-station...

    enjoy your trip:)

  5. i would suggest having atleast 3 weeks to spare when you come here. If you are coming from Europe or NA, you probably would land in New Delhi or Mumbai. Visit the surrounding tourist spots in N.Delhi (Delhi, Shimla, Kulu-Manali, Rajasthan, Agra, Dharmshala, etc) or Mumbai (Pune, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh). If you come from the "wrong side" you can land in Calcutta or Chennai, and visit places around those - Chennai: Bangalore/Mysore, Hyderabad, Ooty, Kerala, Pondicherry) Calcutta: Darjeeling, Gangtok, Sikkim Monasteries, Assam, etc). There are other places like Lakshadweep Islands (right next to Kerala) or the beautiful Andaman and Nicobar Islands (close to South East Asia than India!!)

Try staying in the resorts from where you can take a cab/taxi, or stay as a paying guest in some homes where you can feel the culture of that place - travel by train to experience the real India.

  6. Go to Delhi first and do the "golden triangle" (i.e. Agra, Japiur and Udaipur). You will get enough of the culture part here.

Lastly go down to Goa for relaxation / the tourist part.
