Question:

Trying to play with real money on PokerStars.com (Canada)?

My husband is trying to deposit money to play on Pokerstars.com, he has tried his visa, my mastercard, and epassporte. Nothing worked and no one responded to emails. So, should he try a prepaid credit card or is there some other way that works and doesn't take a long time? We live in Canada.

  1. Some credit card companies put a filter on their cards that decline transactions with gambling sites.  If your card or your husband's card doesn't work on one gambling site, it won't work on others.  Also, sometimes card companies will decline transactions with other institutions, such as ePassporte.  It happened with me, as well.

The best, long term solution would be to link a bank account with ePassporte.  If you don't want to do that, then you can use a prepaid gift card.  You can always take checks for payouts (PokerStars is probably the best site for payouts by check).  In the states, I KNOW that Visa All Access Gift Cards work on most, if not all poker sites accept them.  Visa Vanilla and Green Dot gift cards do not work.  Check your local grocery store or drug store to see what might be available in Canada.

If the All Access Cards aren't available, remember to avoid Green Dot and Vanilla, but go with a trial and error process.  If one card doesn't work, you can always use that card to buy a different one...that's about how I found out which cards worked and which ones didn't.  There are more tips and bonus codes for PokerStars at http://dagus-statistics.com/funding.htm and http://dagus-statistics.com/reviews.htm

    Hope this helps.
