Trying to pursue a teaching career for young kids?

I am in 8th grade going into 9th and i want to start looking at colleges so i can have a goal set for myself and to know what my min. GPA can be. What courses should I take?

Any collage suggestions?

Any one a teacher who has hints for me to start preparing for this career?

  1. You need at least a 3.0 for most decent colleges. A 3.5 or higher would be better.... you'll have more options for universities, and you'll get more scholarships the better your grades are.

    Try to take courses in child development and psychology if your school has them. Foreign language courses are good too.

    For colleges, just pick one that has a teacher certification program and is in the state you plan to teach in... it's a pain sometimes to switch certification to a different state.

    Try to volunteer with children as much as possible or get a job working with them. If your school has a future teachers club, join it, or if not, maybe you could help start one. Some schools have programs where you can tutor younger children or your peers... if yours does, sign up for it.
