Trying to remember the title of this book...?

A few years ago, I read a fictional book that was about a terrorist plot to attack the USS Lincoln...and it was situated somewhere in the Middle East. It was kinda like a Tom Clancy novel, but I don't think Tom Clancy wrote it...but its possible

And it had a sequel that began with a plot to bomb the Sears Tower.

(sorry I'm not being very clear, it was from a couple of years ago)
