Our previous ceiling fan/light operated on two switches. Fan on toggle with fan speed adjusted by pull chain and light on a dimmer switch. Now in attempting to install an new ceiling fan/light we can't seem to get light to work on dimmer. Not sure what we are doing wrong.

  1. the Fan has its own speed changer so you have to wire the light buy it self and then to dimmer

  2. where the light attaches, there should be a blue and white wire that have to be connected to power them separately. Connect the blue wire to the incoming supply from dimmer switch.

  3. make sure the light is dimmable (I think that's a real word), some bulbs cant be dimmed, some halogen for instance.
