So I am trying to book two bus tickets with this stupid bus company and their on-line purchase process is crazier than anything I have ever experienced. If anyone has any ideas, please help me. I don´t know what the heck they want from me with the cuotas, numero de calle, tipo do documento (and it isn´t my passport or RUN). Anyone ever booked on-line that can help me figure out what to do?

  1. Use a booking agency that is a member of the Association of Argentinean Travel Agents - email me raemac@bastay.com and we will refer you to a quality provider in BA.

  2. they want your address and DNI number which as a forgeiner u wouldnt have... if u have a phone number i would try to call them or just wait till u get to argentina.

BTW.. why are u taking the bus? Usually airlines like aerolinias argentinas have the travel to argentina specials which is dirt cheap! The cataratas trip via bus is way too long.. Although buses in argentina are great!

if you cant reserve the info via phone try this website:http://www.tangol.com/asp/buenos_aires.a... they might be able to plan your trip.

  3. Firts: Do NOT recommend to book on-line.

Your numbers will NOT match what the system is looking for.

It has been designed for local transactions. And even if you go through it, may-not accept your international credit card.

Best, go directly to the Bus Terminal (Retiro) and buy the ticket there in advance or the same day.

Choose the "Ejecutivo" (executive) or "Cama/Semi-cama" with reclining seats, as it is a long trip (12+ hours)

You have more than one option to travel to Iguazzu.

    Other:

    Expreso Singer

Also check prices on Aerolineas Argentinas to fly there, as a foreigner you may get a good price.

  4. Patrick just go straight to Retiro and buy the tickets or better yet, check the price of airfare via Austral or Aerolineas, sometimes it's actually cheaper to fly and you save a lot of time.

  5. hi there ! ATI and Asatej are better travel companies. I think you should visit their sites and call them :) or, as Carlos said in an earlier post, go to Retiro (bus station) and buy some last-minute tickets.

I know a person from France that comes every year with about 20 people to visit Argentina, and I think she books online (she need too many reservations to book everything a minute before she gets on the plane or the bus ! lol)

If you want, I could give Tigre Iguazu, ATI, ASATEJ or any other travel agency a call on monday (it's not long distance from here!) and let you know what they tell me :)

Good luck with the bookings !

  6. Try not use your credit card in phone transactions in Argentina. I think,if you want to buy it before your travel, buy a airflight with Aerolineas Argentinas o Austral (local companies) is safer by far the bus companies for those transactions.

    Good luck!
