Question:

Trying to sell two televisions

I am helping a friend sell two tvs. A place that can help sell old items and a pawn shop said they could buy them for $15.00 each. My friend told me he wants to start selling them at $50,00 each, and maybe go down in $5 or $10 increments each week or every other week. Is that a good idea? I understand you want to start out high, but it might be too high. I know one is a 1993 LXI 25 inch with remote. I think he should try it for one week at each of them being $50.00 just to see if somebody might buy it. I think he should either try one at $30 or two for $50. How about 1 for 30 or two for $45? and they would have to buy both to get the $45.00 deal (kinda like buy one get one at half off). Any suggestions?

  1. You will be hard pressed to get more than $25 for each unitl

I say take them to the pawn shop and save the time and money.

  2. These TV's are way to old to sell for that price considering they are just going to have to get a box for them. $50 for both and take $40 is Okay if it works, but in the end they cost money to get rid of them so take what you get.

O yeah and you can but a brand new 25inch for $160 with the digital box already in it so think about that.

  3. Tell your friend they will be obsolete so soon he's lucky to get anything at all for them, so don't be picky.
