Trying to sew a set of clear plastic covers for my furniture, but experiencing problem using this material?

yes, I have sewed silk, cotton and others materials in the past and did not experience this type of problem, which is the plastic / rubbery material sticks to the sewing machine ( sewing plate) and does not move readily as would cotton or silk gliding over the plate moving forward.

  1. tissue paper or stabilizer above and below the vinyl, roller or teflon foot.  Long stitches.


  2. Get a piece of wide basting tape and fold it over each side of the plastic covering (right side out).  Sew thru this and see if it works any better.

  3. Use a heavy duty needle , next to solve the  problem with the plastic not sliding trough you could use toilet paper or paper towel under the plastic this way you wont have this problem when you are sewing.
