Hello everyone! I'm not even sure if this is where I should be asking this question, but I'm going to give it a try.

There is a local child that has recently passed away, the family had no life insurance on him so my husband and I were trying to things that we can do to try and help. This child was loved by all people throughout the community so I'm sure it won't be hard getting others involved. We were thinking a Texas holdem tournament with a buy in for like $40-$45? Is that too high? I mean we'd give everything to the family (other then what we'd need for food/whatever?) I've never done anything like this before and I was just wondering if someone has and could give me advice or point in me in the right direction. Any advice would be wonderful! I just want to thank you in advance for helping! Have a great day!!!

  1. i'm really sorry for your friends loss. It's a really wonderful thing you are trying to do for the family.

Its devastating when a family loses a child.

I wonder if you tried contacting the local radio advertised your local radio stations, local news paper ,pubs, supermarkets -(what they do in our local is bag packing at the tills with a  bucket)

get the churches involved, a collection outside the services

ask local print firm to print t-shirts for the event

Very best wishes and good luck
