  1. I'm afraid that your chances of accessing anything online seem very slim, unless it was something really high profile that you would find in a Google search.  Otherwise, as far as I know, if it had made the national news, the Times and the Guardian both have online archives, you pay for them, unless your public library gives you free online access, mine does for the Times but they haven't put the Guardian on yet as that went digital fairly recently.

Otherwise you need to visit the British Library's newspaper collection in London.

If it would have been in a local paper you could also contact the borough or county record or archive service of the area, local libraries may also have some microfiches of newspapers, and if you're researching something in your local area you could there ask firstly and even if they don't have them they should be able to point you in the right direction.  You could also contact any newspaper directly and ask them about where their archives are kept and how you can access them.

I'm not so sure about court records, I found this which may help a bit:

  2. Unless there is some site which maintains those records, and I know of none, you'll have to go to the da's office that handled the case. Some libraries have the old newspapers.

  3. If you are in the UK, the British Library newspaper archive is at Colindale in north London. You will need to visit as they are not available online.
